CommentsThank you very much! <3
Yeah, I've been told that the head is a bit too small. I was originally gonna make it bigger, but then it looked too big, and yeah. xD I'll keep all this stuff in mind for future stuff! Thanks a lot. This'll really help me. <3 |
You have improved so much in the time that I have known you! I have noticed you experimenting with new poses, and perspectives which work very well.
Now there are a few areas you may like to look into in the future, so below I will name the areas and flawed portions and walk you through steps and tricks to help and fix those issues for the future.
Head and Neck
I can see you had the image in your head, and you drew it out. It's executed well, however it appears that compared to the size of the body the head is rather small. Now the heads are not huge, but every part of the body is proportionate to one-another. So I would suggest re-sizing the head a little bigger to go with the length and width of the neck.
Remember, the full length of the head from the top to the end of the muzzle is the length of the neck.
Eyes and Muzzle
Now the eyes are nicely spaced, and drawn in your style. So here I may just add a small suggestion, perhaps next time try to make the eye shape just slightly smaller as well as downsizing the pupil just a bit; especially since in light the pupils become smaller and in darker areas they become bigger as to draw in what light there is to be able to see better in the darkness. Also perhaps add some color effects to the iris, to show off the beauty of the eyes a bit more.
For the muzzle I feel that with re-sizing the head will fix the slight awkwardness it holds to it; but once re-sized try to straighten the curve a little leading to the eyes. Since this is your style on things; I am sure re-sizing the head a little will fix some of these slight flaws. Easy fix.
Overall
As for the over-all piece, I think it is lovely and I especially adore your shading and lighting. It is wonderful and very complimenting to the piece. I also very like the way you draw paws very much.
Just keep on practicing, and experimenting with new poses, perspectives even styles. Don't be afraid to experiment! Being an artist it is one of the many fun parts, is being in control on the over-all look the piece has.
If you need any more help, or if I was not specific enough please feel free to note me! I will try to help you further
Keep up the wonderful work!
